Stock Market LIVE Updates: Indian equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty50 started Tuesday’s session on a positive note tracking gains across other Asian markets. Gains across sectors, led by financial, IT, metal and consumer stocks, pushed the headline indices higher. Broader markets also strengthened, with teh Nifty Midcap 100 index up one percent and its smallcap counterpart up 1.7 percent in early deals.

Sensex, Nifty50 up over 1% 

Headline indices Sensex and Nifty50 rose as much as 1.1 percent each in early deals after a positive opening. The Sensex jumped as much as 590.5 points to touch 56,412.5 and the Nifty50 climbed to as high as 16,798.3, up 184.1 points from its previous close.

MapmyIndia IPO listing, GMP: MapmyIndia shares commanded a grey market premium (GMP) of Rs 700 ahead of the listing on Dalal Street. The MapmyIndia IPO saw an overall subscription of 154.7 times the shares on offer.

MapmyIndia shares will make their stock market debut on Tuesday. CE Info Systems — which owns the MapmyIndia platform — commanded a premium in the grey market ahead of the listing on Dalal Street. Dealers said MapmyIndia’s GMP or grey market premium stood at Rs 700 on Monday, a day prior to the listing on BSE and NSE.

MapmyIndia’s listing on stock exchanges comes at a time when most IPOs have received a robust response from investors. However, the recent correction in the market has dented the appeal of new entrants on bourses.
