USDINR opened at 73.95 y’day and the pair traded in the 73.83-74.18 range. Spot USDINR closed at 74.14 , loss of 6 ps for USD as against prior close of 74.20. RBI reference rate was fixed at 74.05 on 06/11. Nov USD/INR closed at 74.25, loss of 2 ps for USD as compared to prior day’s close of 74.27. Nov Euro/INR closed at 88.08, GBP/INR at 97.49 and Yen/INR at 71.53.

FII’S nett bought Rs 16994 Cr of Indian Equities in Oct . FII’S nett bought Rs 3776 Cr of Indian debt securities in Oct . In this financial year, FII’S have nett bought Rs 96478 Cr of Equities and have sold Rs  31032 Cr in debt. In FY 19-20, FII’s have sold Rs 10200 Cr of Equities and 47393 cr of debt.

Benchmark Nifty climbed 1.61% Y’day. DOW climbed 834 points (2.95%).Nikkei climbed 2.12% and Hang seng climbed 1.18%.

Economic news: Sentiments are given a massive boost after Pfizer and BioNTech said y’day that their COVID-19 vaccine is now over 90% effective. The companies have began manufacturing the vaccine already, before knowing whether it would be effective, to save time to help fighting the pandemic that has plagued the world since February. They expect to produce up to 50 million doses to protect 25 million people this year. 1.3 billion doses of the vaccine are expected in 2021.

Global Equities surged, US bond yields rallied and Gold slumped on this positive news.
