USDINR opened at 73.59 y’day and the pair traded in the 73.50-73.64 range. Spot USDINR closed at 73.57 , loss of 2 ps for USD as against prior close of 73.59. RBI reference rate was fixed at 73.31 on Monday. Sep USD/INR closed at 73.54, gain of 4 ps for USD as compared to prior day’s close of 73.50. Sep Euro/INR closed at 86.12, GBP/INR at 93.63 and Yen/INR at 70.04.

FII’S have nett bought Rs 4124 Cr of Indian Equities in Sept till date . FII’S have nett bought Rs 2285 Cr of Indian debt securities in Sept till date. In this financial year, FII’S have nett bought Rs 91027 Cr of Equities and have sold Rs  38779 Cr in debt. In FY 19-20, FII’s have sold Rs 10200 Cr of Equities and 47393 cr of debt.

Benchmark Nifty declined 0.20%. DOW declined 525 points (1.92%).Nikkei declined 0.06% and Hang seng climbed 0.11%.

Euro is now at 1.1662,Pound at 1.2715,Yen at 105.43.     

Commodities: Gold is now at USD 1861 and WT1Crude at USD 39.45/Brent at USD 41.38.

Interest rates: USD 10 Yr yield is at 0.67% and 3 m libor closed at 0.25%. Indian 10 yr benchmark yield closed at 6%.

Economic news: Fed chairman said in his testimony that US economy is recovering with uncertainity and Govty fiscal support is crucial for sustainability of economic recovery. UK PM issued new restrictions on work to tame surging infections. US President in his UN address said that China should be held accountable for pandemic spread.

EU PMI(services) witnessed a downturn due to rising infections.


Data highlights : – EU PMI(mfrg-flash) climbed to 53.7  and PMI(services-flash) declined to 47.6.

-UK PMI(mfrg-flash) was reported at 54.3 and PMI(services-flash) dipped to 55.1.
