USDINR opened at 71.22 y’day and the pair traded in the 70.85-71.35 range. Spot USDINR closed at 70.89 y’day, loss of 19 ps for USD as against prior close of 71.08. RBI reference rate was fixed at 70.91 on Tuesday. Oct USD/INR closed at 71.05, loss of 22 ps for USD as compared to prior day’s close of 71.27. Oct Euro/INR closed at 78.09, GBP/INR at 87.56 and Yen/INR at 66.46.

FII’S have nett sold  Rs 4456 Cr of Indian Equities in Sep . FII’S have nett bought Rs 44917 Cr of Indian Equities in this calendar Year till date. FII’S have nett sold Rs 454 Cr of Indian debt securities in Sep. FII’S have nett bought Rs 29149 Cr of Indian debt in this calendar year till date.

Benchmark Nifty declined 0.41% y’day. DOW declined 494 points(1.86%) y’day. Nikkei declined 2.01%  and Hang seng climbed 0.37% Y’day.

Euro is now at 1.0981 ,Pound at 1.2348,Yen at 106.83.    

Commodities: Gold is now at USD 1514and WT1Crude at USD 52.63./Brent at USD 57.87.

Interest rates: USD 10 Yr yield is at 1.60% and 3 m libor closed at 2.06%. Indian 10 yr benchmark yield closed at 6.66%.        

Economic news: USD declined as ISM(non mfrg) tumbled to 52.6, well below expectaion. Sterling was lifted as ruling party members were appreciative of new Brexit proposal put forward by UK PM.

Focus is on RBI monetary policy.

Data highlights : –  US ISM(non mfrg) tumbled to 52.6, factory orders declined -0.1% m/m and weekly jobless claims climbed to 219k.

-EU PMI(services) dipped to 51.6, retail sales climbed 0.3% m/m and PPI declined -0.5% m/m.

-UK PMI(services) contracted to 49.5.
